R2D62 – Weight & Measurements

Did not have time to stretch today nor take the pics, tomorrow I volunteered to do some Over Time work but it should be about a 5hr day, so I should be able to take the pics tomorrow at some point, so I will have them for tomorrow. However I did do the weight and measurements so lets check that out…

Well it seems the scale says I gained 0.8lbs and looking at my body fat, it seems that chopping wood, walking and then working out still does wonders LOL. I measured more than 3 times to try an makes sure I had this right, my body fat as per the caliper seems to have gone down a bit more by 0.6% and therefore it seems that I lost 0.9lbs of fat and gained 1.7lbs of Lean Body Mass. Now I will say I am still sore, so I am still feeling the workout from Wednesday, my back, chest, abs, legs and biceps are all still sore, so it can also be part of the soreness, normally feeling sore the muscles are filled with fluids as well, so that can be part of it.

Well it seems my back has increased a bit more, and I lost some more around the mid section, which is good. But skin is way to slow coming back, but that’s ok, it’s seems so far, it is still slowly tightening, but very slowly.

Well tomorrow I have Chest, Shoulders & Triceps + Ab Ripper X and I will have to workout at home, since the over time hours are not at the same building, which also means that it depends on who’s sleeping and when, is when I get to workout.

Thank you for your time:

R2D61 – Kenpo X

kenpo x

First off I would like to mention that I am still sore from yesterday’s workout, legs, abs, top part of my pecks and biceps, they are all sore, all that struggling paid off, plus the difference in weights and the difference on the pull up bar, all made a difference, it’s been a while since my abs have been sore for more than a day, which means that crunch machine did something, well plus the shoes LOL.

Today I worked out at work again, I really like it, lots of room, A/C and maybe 1 other person working on the machines if not I am totally alone. At times I wonder what they may be thinking, watching me fallow a video on a laptop in front of the mirror LOL.

Again today I had to at times take advantage of Tony talking, I took green tea, been taking it before every tough workout, it has been helping a bit. Today I also ate plenty of fruits about an hour before. I also put in as much intensity as I could, I was trying to pump my arms and legs more, working up that soreness as much as I could. It was an awesome workout for sure.

Tomorrow I will try to stretch if I can, but I will also try to take some pics as I am a week late with those, sorry, plus I will have weight and measurements, we will see if anything happened with just 3 days of workout and 3 days of Cottage time LOL.

Thank you for your time:

R2D60 – Legs & Back + Ab Ripper X

Today’s workout was at the GYM at work, it was pretty awesome, I increased the weight I used on the legs for some exercises and added the weight for some I never used it before, however this in return made me run out of juice a little sooner and my reps on pull ups went down a bit. I am considering doing my pull ups slowly which again in return will reduce the reps but that is still something to consider for next time. Lets take a look on how it went…

Reading this Chart:

  • Last column is the difference in reps since the last time I did this workout:
    • Green = More Reps than last time
    • Red = Less Reps than last time
  • R = Reps
  • S = Seconds
  • NC = No Chair Assist
  • C = Chair Assist
  • RL = Right Leg
  • LL = Left Leg
  • W = Weight

As you can see the first thing I did was increase the 20lb weight to 27lbs, now why this weight? They have 2 large dumbbell sets, the first set is the small set that goes up to 10lbs (I meant large as in lots of dumbbells LOL) and it is the helix dumbbells that are covered in rubber, the heavier ones are round dumbbells that look like you could exchange the plates but are already preset with the weight, I selected a set that had 2 plates of 10lbs and 2 plates of 2.5lbs, however I figured the handle had it’s weight as well, so I weighed the dumbbell on the scale they have there and it weighed 27lbs in total. I also used 10lbs dumbbells for some exercises that I never used weights and again it made a difference.

Now using this weight for a bit seemed like my arms were somewhat going to come out of its sockets LOL And this tired my arms out a bit. Therefore when I went for pull ups I was already panting and I had to take a 5sec rest in-between my reps before continuing and trying to complete my reps. Now I will also mention this, the pull up bar there is higher, I have to tip toe in order to grab it, which I like. But I found it a bit different and harder LOL at the same time at home I workout barefoot because I have carpet, and well I got use to not having the weight of the shoes and believe it or not, they make a difference, they also made a difference for the ab workout LOL. The other thing I found odd, and I guess it takes time to get use to, is that the ends of the pull up bar are bent and at the same time gives me a wider grip, I do not have such a wide grip at home for sure, so it also made a difference.

Needless to say it was an interesting workout for sure, I did feel my back and my legs today, so that was awesome.

Reading this chart:

  • Last column is the difference in reps since the last time I did this workout:
    • Green = More Reps than last time
    • Red = Less Reps than last time
  • F = Forward
  • R = Reverse
  • RS = Right Side
  • LS = Left Side

As I mentioned before the factor that I had shoes on made a difference LOL and well I did 10 reps less on in & outs, and I managed to keep struggling to make sure I kept the rest of the reps, and I will say I felt my abs working hard, and to compensate for the –10 reps I used an ab crunch machine they have there at the GYM, I found it pretty cool, I think they call it a double crunch machine.

Just to give you an idea of what the machine looks like, as I forgot to take a look at the brand of the machine, but it looks something like this:

Nitro-Ab

The main difference is that the machine does not have the elbow pads and those handles point down instead of up. but everything else looks pretty much the same.

Here is a sample of what the action of the workout looks like:

The machine is also a bit odd as the weights jump quite a bit, the first time I tested this machine, I was fresh without working out, I have seen some people use it and struggle with 60 to 90lbs, when I tested it, I was able to do it with 135lbs and the next weight up was 150lbs and I could not do it, today I was exhausted and I tried the 135lbs and it felt to heavy, I then dropped all the way to 105lbs (The machine had 120lbs option but did not try it) and that was good, I did 2 sets of 10 reps each and I finalized the burnt feeling in my abs, I am also hoping this helps me increase the size of my abs as increasing weights and doing less reps is always good for muscle increase.

Well today I had a pretty cool workout for sure, even though I went down on some reps but I had a good reason why.

Tomorrow I have Kenpo X.

R2D59 – Yoga X

Yogax

Hello all, it’s been 4 days since my last post, all because I went to the cottage for 3 days. I paused P90X in order to have fun with friends and since it was so many days, I am just coming back to continue where I left off instead of trying to push days around.

I will say that I had lots of fun at the cottage, it rained all 3 days but the BBQ is on the porch, which worked out fantastic, and we played poker and some other card games, so had a blast. Now I did do some exercise, kinda, I chopped wood on Saturday, I chopped a lot of wood actually, all for the fire place, it was fun and didn’t get tired, I don’t know how long I was chopping for, but damn, we had a huge pile of wood, plus all the bending over and picking up the pieces and piling them. Also went for walks. Now for eating, I mostly ate Turkey burgers, did have a couple of large hot dogs, but that was it, so I did not eat really bad, I did have steak but it did not contain fat, and potato salad plus corn on the cob mmmmmmm that was good done on the BBQ, any who; before I get you hungry and myself as well LOL I will say it was fun and not as unhealthy as I thought it would be, and I was not still all the time so that was awesome.

Also at work on Friday and today, I had to move a large printer a Lexmark C920dn, oh man look it up, damn thing weighs 190lbs! two of us to move it and it was really tough, we had to do it twice, once to get in on the cart and another to get the new one off the cart and on to the cabinets it is on, and we will have to move it on Thursday again to load it in to a truck LOL. Also last Tuesday we were loading on to a truck some old equipment that was pretty heavy, the boss said, who wants to workout looking at the equipment and I said, I do and started loading them, I would normally never do stuff like this, now I want to lift heavy things and work harder LOL hmmm I am not as lazy as I use to be LOL, I guess that is a good thing.

Well today I came home to do my Yoga, it was as awesome as usual, except that I was really looking forward to it, after having to lift such heavy things and all the chopping at the cottage, considering that my back was not hurting, but I still wanted to get some Yoga done, just in case.

Tomorrow I have Legs & Back + Ab Ripper X, I will do that at work.

Thank you for your time:

R2D55 – Weight & Measurements

Today will be really short, as it is late, had lots to do in order to get ready for the cottage 3 day weekend, and I have to get up early. I will say that thanks to the erratic diet LOL I did not change in weight on the scale, however after checking body fat, I lost some fat and gained a bit of muscle which seems that have balanced everything out, not bad, I can live with that. Lets see…

As you can see I lost 1.1lbs and gained it back in lean body mass, pretty cool, I don’t mind this weight at all, it is after all what my weight should be 160lbs, but if I were to loose all fat, I would be 143.4, so I still want to increase in muscle. Another thing is I still have loose skin, not as bad as before but it’s loose enough that it still does not show my abs right, was told it can take a long time before it tightens up some more, also told it may never tighten, however there are no stretch marks and the skin is not dry so the chances of it tightening are higher.

I only lost a little bit in my mid section, since I only lost 1.1lbs of fat.

Sorry no pics at this time, we will see when I can have them. Maybe I can do them when I get back, not sure.

Well tomorrow I will be heading out to the cottage early in the morning, I wont be working out, I mean there are lots of activities to do there, so it’s not like I will be sitting still, even though I am planning on sitting and reading at book at some point, but I am sure I will get restless and will want to do something.

I hope you all have a wonderful long weekend!

R2D54 – Yoga X

Yogax

I came home and had some things to do, then did my Yoga at 6:50pm. It was pretty hot today, so I sweat like mad, but it was also good, I just had my mind set that I was in a sauna room doing Yoga LOL. However it felt as awesome as usual and I really needed it, at work today I moved 2 really huge printers that were really hard for 2 guys to move, but we did it and I moved other equipment, my back was fine and if I would have done this before P90X I would have been home taking pain killers because of it, but even though everything was fine I could not wait till I got home to do the Yoga to stretch my back, and at the moment I feel fantastic! :o)

I thought I would mention something I forgot to mention before, I had to purchase a cheap hand mixer because the protein shaker I had did not do the job well. Now the protein shaker I was using had a thin grid, which these are normally good, but I still had clumps of protein or I had to shake for a really long time and some times, still had a clump or two, well I went to Popeye’s the supplement store, because I needed a small shaker for travel and maybe one that would do a better job, well I did not find a smaller one, I found one a bit thinner, which helps, but I found one I decided to try and oh I love it, researched it online and some call it the Rolls-Royce of shakers. I don’t have to shake for a long time, probably for about 8sec or less and it is perfectly shaked and smooth.

This is what the shaker looks like:

blender-bottle My shaker looks exactly like this, except that it says Popeye’s on the side of it. The lid seals perfectly and so does the spout cover. The ball is like a spring, you can squish it and it’s not hard to do so. I also thought it would be loud, however the protein shake is think so the sound is pretty minimal and if it does make noise it’s not that bad, sounds like a loud mouse click LOL, now don’t shake it empty, it’s really loud LOL. Love this shaker for sure, best one I purchased, it cost me around $8.00, so it didn’t break the bank either.

Tomorrow I have X Stretch, measurements & weight, I am not sure if I will have time for X- Stretch, after work I have to help a friend with her computer and I have lots to get ready for the cottage, so I will try to have measurements and & weight at least, should also be Picture time but if I can’t I will do it after I get back from the cottage.

Thank you for your time:

Reading this chart:

  • W = Weight

I am glad I did this workout at work, with the nice range of dumbbells, I always wanted to use a 10lbs dumbbell for this workout and it made a huge difference. I actually highlighted in green where I used the 10lbs. I will say that if your not use to using weights oh man you sure feel it.

Starting with the leaning crescent lunges, I began to feel it on my shoulders, when I did the squat run, I can now understand why he says you don’t need a heavy weight for this, the inertia of the action of arms in a running motion makes the weight double, and you can really feel it. It got to the point where I had a real hard time with the push ups, I struggled to be able to keep the reps I had done before, I really did, but it’s good to struggle, it means you benefit from the workout more. Therefore I can surely say I so brought it today.

I do want to add that when I was doing the reach high & under push ups, I wanted to use the 10lbs dumbbells as push up bars and then lift them up when I lifted my arms, but I knew I was not going to be able to do much, it was going to kill me LOL so maybe the next time I have this type of push ups, I will give it a try.

Tomorrow I have Yoga and since it is 1.5hrs I will do this one at home.

Thank you for your time:

Mike
