Yoga, lots of people think yeah yoga whatever, anyone can do that or that’s easy, just a bunch of people stretching and doing weird posses. Uhm yeah no LOL, this is insane, one hell of a work out, actually I found this a hell of a lot harder than Plyometrics, I was not able to do some stuff, well I will not say I was not able to do, I will say I currently struggle with some parts of it, it has to be the mentality of every P90Xer, you struggle with, there is no I can’t do. So BRING IT!!
First off this routine is 1hr and 32min long, the longest routine in the series. It is divided in to 3 parts:
- A Yoga workout, this will get you sweating within the first 8min. You will sweat like you have never sweat before, and it will get your heart rate up a bit. This is not a fast pace, but the slow steady movements and having to hold certain positions over and over again, just gets your body going and struggling and sweating like mad. When the clock said I had 1hr and 16min left I thought I had already done half the DVD because I was struggling and sweating like if I would have already worked out for over an hour, I had to break in several parts and try to modify others in order to continue.
- A Yoga Balance routine. Again this is no piece of cake. Some of the posses are like, You want me to do what? LOL I had to try and modify some of the posses in order to be able to follow or I should say continue, but I did my best. Same thing here I had to stop at a couple of parts and then pick it up again.
- A Yoga Stretch routine, and yet again, this is no piece of cake, but a little easier then the first 2 parts. Again I had to modify in order to try and continue. I was pretty dead by this time but most of the end segments were on the floor and there is a small segment for abdominal area here which was cool too, which also works out the abs.
After that the cool down section was mostly a stretch and Zen idea, very relaxing.
So I do have a couple of advices here:
- When you do this video or any video, when you think that your tired, don’t just turn it off and leave, rest a bit and keep watching to see if you can do what comes next and try to get back to it with something that seems easier, that way you can keep going and not quit so early, if you do need to call it quits because you can’t take it any more, then fast forward the video and look for the cool down sections, never stop abruptly, you can seriously hurt yourself. Well same thing if you push to much, but you should know yourself and what you can and can not do. Having said that, if you seem to be taking a long break and are thinking of picking it up again, try to do a something a couple of jumping jacks and some warm up moves during part of your break to make sure your body does not cool down, or this could also be an issue.
- Continuing with the first advice, you should watch the videos first before you do them, check to see what is needed, how moves are done, space you may require and if your going to be able to do those moves or not and think about modifying the moves, that way it is not a surprise to you, you know what to expect. Do it the day before if you can, if you don’t have time to watch the whole thing, at least watch it while fast forwarding it and stopping to check out the routines. You will thank yourself you did, some moves have you facing away from the TV, so it is hard to see what is going on, you will find yourself struggling to turn and watch the TV interrupting your exercise, so if you know in advance what you will be doing you have an idea of what is going on and you wont need to keep rubber necking towards the TV, that happens especially with Yoga X.
- If you have a carpet like I do and you sweat a lot, all this sweat is landing on your carpet, soon it will smell like old gym socks in your room even if everything is clean. If you can lay down a blanket on the floor. The blanket will catch most of it and that you go throw in the wash. The carpet you can shampoo but it cost more. And Fabreeze will eventually stop working, ewwww stinky, not good LOL
Tomorrow I have Legs and Back + Ab Ripper X. Oh yeah another Ab Ripper X, I seem to be looking forward to doing them, yeah BRING IT!
Thank you for your time and support:
Mike

ReplyDeleteI will agree, I think one thing I forgot to mention was that my right arm hurt quite a bit, I had a hard time trying to put my hands together, issues trying to comb my hair. But after I did the yoga and sweat out quite a bit, my arm slowly started feeling better by the time I went to bed I could touch my head and when I woke up the next day, everything was fine, it was amazing and I had already spent 2 days in pain. And yes the end is way to relaxing LOL almost fell asleep LOL.
