Day 67 – Yoga X – Breath, Work & Sweat!

Yogax

I did Yoga at 3:30pm. I tell you this is hard work, but I really like this routine. It really makes you breath well, every time that my nose has been a bit congested after about 10min, my airways are fully open, at the same time your body is working so hard while moving smoothly and standing still and yet you sweat like you have never sweat before.

Before I mention anything about today’s yoga workout, I will say that this has help me, not only with flexibility, balance and strength, but has helped me with my asthma, I am not chronic, but every once in a while I needed an inhaler or puffer and especially in the last few years as I had been getting more over weight I have needed it more often and some times daily. Many times I have needed a puffer before going to bed.

With all this practice on breathing for an hour and a half, I have given my lungs a workout as well. When doing the Ohms at the end I am lasting longer than Adam and when I started I could only do it about a little more than half way of what he does. Which means my lungs have expanded and are stronger, this in turn has helped me as I have not had the need for an inhaler or puffer at all in the last month and a half. I have not felt out of breath, not even while working out and this for me is amazing. So before you pass up yoga, consider that it may not just help in areas that you may not be interested in, like flexibility and balance (Some people don’t care about this) but there is so much more that yoga can help you with, especially with breathing.

Just think, the better you breath the more oxygen you deliver to the muscles in your body and the better they will perform, protein and vitamins are not the only thing necessary for your muscles, so think about it.

Today I tried yet again to work on my form and at the same time I tried not to think about it to much and just concentrate on breathing and holding the posture. This alone makes time fly, no looking at the screen to see the time, and not thinking what comes next or what I did before, just think about the moment and the move I am doing now and keep breathing. I tell you time passes.

So moving forward a bit when I did the angle posses, I was not able to touch my hands with the right side, but I almost touched my finger tips with the left, still working hard on this one.

When doing the half moon and twisted moon section, I worked hard not to lower my foot and keep it as high as possible. I can tell you that my glut was on fire LOL I thought I was not going to be able to sit down again LOL. But I did it, did not touch the floor once YAY.

Crane, I am still working on it, placing the toe for balance and taking it off, lasting between 2 to 5 sec each time.

Wheel, I was able to hold it for about 8 sec twice, then I placed my head on the floor and held that a little longer before going back to bridge, so it’s a work in progress.

The hamstring stretches, I am able to grab my ankles and on my left foot I was able to use the block flat on my foot for a bit, then took it off and grabbed my ankle again, COOL! can’t believe I have made it that far, when I started I could only grab my shins.

The yoga belly section, I worked it hard, especially the 3 part touch the sky, I went so high I almost lifted my entire back off the floor, at the same time, I was trying to push my hips off the floor as well and the abs were on fire!, YEAH BRING IT!!

Today was another great workout day, tomorrow I have Legs & Back.

Thank you for your time:

Mike
